Not Everything is Contained in Books

As it is rightly expressed by Mahatma Gandhi that, “Knowledge gained through experience is far superior and many times more useful than bookish knowledge.” Gaining knowledge is a natural human desire. Books and life experiences are both primary sources of acquiring knowledge; hence, both have their own value in life. Having said that, I believe learning from experience is far more valuable, productive and practical for a successful life.

Firstly, books are considered a major source of gaining knowledge at early age particularly in schools. Knowledge from books is quite enough to grasp language, and build concepts to build a foundation for learning at later age. For example, learning of alphabets, creating words from those alphabets, later on it paves way for construction of complete sentences. However, books do not provide us any knowledge about social skills, and their challenges in practical life which primarily depends upon our language use. Therefore, experiences teach us with time and practice to learn and develop social skills in life.

Furthermore, moving on by saying that, “Experience is a teacher by itself”. Apparently speaking, books are written by experts and authorities in various fields and subjects. No doubt, their contributions are greatly accepted, but merely by going through the subject matter presented in these books does not enable us to be an expert, or an authority in that field and profession. For example, a novice doctor no matter how high his/her scores are in medical profession, but he is not eligible to perform surgeries. Each doctor has to go through mandatory internships, by working under the guidance of an expert doctor as a trainee doctor for some time. Afterwards, passing certain training and internships over a period of time, and under the presence of competent doctors he or she is allowed to perform surgery. Hence, we can say that without real time experience a person is unable to be considered as an expert professional in the field.

Finally, knowledge acquired from books is only for the sake of knowledge itself. On the contrary, experience teaches us how to apply that knowledge in real life situations. For example, reading the book about learning to drive does provide knowledge about various road signs, different driving situations, and information about the vehicle etc. However, we can only learn driving skills by applying that knowledge by sitting behind the steering wheel of the car. Similarly, learning to swim, ride a bicycle, baking, cooking all such skills are learnt with practice and experience only.

To conclude, it is correctly said, “Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience.”

Problems VS Solutions

As human beings during our life terms each one of us experience diversified nature of problems. We are all knit together due to these problems in our lives reaching to us from time to time. These problems not only add flavor to our life but also provide us opportunities to step up and look forward in life.

However, devising a solution to our problems is not everyone's cup of tea. In fact, each problem does own its solution in its own self and provides us a challenge to overcome it through trail and error. But majority of the people do not accept this challenge and prefer to remain in their comfort zone. Therefore, they keep resisting change and these problems become their inner fears and keep haunting them for the rest of their lives.

Since each coin always has two sides similarly all negative elements has positive ends too. Its the matter of our attitude the way we look at them and try to overcome them with our self-confidence.

Certainly, formulating solutions cannot be done with ease one has to think, analyze the situation, understand the factors adding to that problem and finally has to invent a solution. This is a very painful process indeed. Immense amount of patience, perseverance, tolerance, determination and consistency is required in life. 

But people who conduct this process successfully considered to be intelligent and successful performers in life. It doesn't mean that such people don't face any problems in life rather they face each problem with open heart and welcome problems with open arms. Each new problem in their life opens a new door of opportunity for them.

Life throws immense amount of opportunities in front of us to keep taking them into our hands and transform our lives accordingly in our favor or against us. Each success story of a person has a background full of huge amount of problems but they keep turning each of them into their successful life opportunities of learning, understanding and development. 

If each one of us believe in ourselves and hold confidence that none of the problem is bigger than you. Problems are like pages of our life and by turning each new page you see a new dimension of life waiting to welcome you with open arms.

Remaining united during tough times no matter whichever role we are playing in life does help turning our challenges into solutions. It all depends upon us whether we develop a positive attitude towards life or keep thinking about negativity in life. Negative people and negative thinking wont lead us anywhere rather spoil our present. Our present is the time in our hands to take the best advantage out of it and add a new dimension to our life because today is in your hands. 

Strong persons are not the ones who are physically strong rather strong is the person who has self control during adversities and keep holding their heads high to face each challenge by looking into its eyes and saying confidently, 'I HAVE SOMETHING IN ME WHICH IS MORE POWERFUL TO TURN THIS ADVERSITY INTO A SUCCESS STORY'.

Woman the other half population of this world is the leading force behind each family, each household, each organization and each country globally. Female creature provides her selfless services towards her children, society and community at large to turn it into a worthwhile generation. 

Evidently in the history of humanity females have contributed in farms, villages, schools during the past centuries before the industrial revolution in West. However, in east and Asian countries woman are still working side by side with their male counterparts in fields for farming and agricultural purposes consequently turning the whole agriculture sector into gold mines. 

After the industrial revolution woman contribution in service and manufacturing industry has brought revolutionary results to western countries and the silent female workforce has helped and facilitated beyond imagination. 

The present era of 21st century is a dynamic age of technological revolution which has its own challenges and demands from each individual irrespective of age, gender, race, ethnic background and culture. Fortunately, woman have also risen to the occasion and taken up various dynamic challenges of this age as well and have proven their worth too. 

There is no sector or field in which woman have not shown their contributions including corporate, education, technology, engineering, science, medicine, agriculture, avionics industry, logistics, intelligence, police, food industry, hospitality industry what not, you just name it and you will find profound contributions of woman delivering their best possible services equally with men. 

Maintaining her dignity along with her self identity she has been consistently doing efforts to provide quality life for their families. Although, her efforts are not acknowledged the way they should be but she keeps on doing selflessly. 

Unfortunately, very few woman are made aware of their self worth and hence most of their hidden talents remain untapped throughout their life. In addition, majority of females are oppressed globally no matter how advanced society they are living in. Sometimes these oppressed woman become so helpless that they have to turn to unfair means for their living which consequently put them into insecure situations. 

Science has proven many years ago that woman are equally talented and possess similar potential to work and contribute simultaneously with the male gender. This is evident that woman who knows and realizes her talent and self worth is not accepted with open heart by male dominated society. 

However, I would say the trends have changed to a great extent and woman are freely working with equal rights in all professional and non professional fields in life. Society has accepted their contributions to a great extent and therefore providing woman many diversified opportunities to prove their self worth and earn a decent life for themselves and for their families. 

Woman are now pilots and even conquered space too. Their contributions in medical science, engineering, architecture, corporate and businesses are no doubt profound. Woman entrepreneurs are conquering diversified nature of business opportunities world wide. 

I would request all woman of the world to look into their own self to understand and recognize their talent, potential and knowledge, their personality and get determined to overcome challenges in their path. No challenge is bigger than their own self, their own potential to conquer it. 

So keep moving on because each small step counts and helps you move toward your dreams and goals to achieve them and win the game of life. NEVER STOP DREAMING! NEVER GIVE UP!

Are We Doing Real Parenting?

Becoming a parent is not only the greatest blessing rather a privilege awarded to blessed ones by God. I feel becoming a parent actually means owning ones self because our children are part of our life. 

Bringing our offspring into this world doesn't end our responsibility rather increases our challenge of taking care of another human being who is extremely delicate, young, small, vulnerable and fragile. This responsibility spreads over different dimensions of this new human in this world for example: responsibility to take care of his/her body, health, mind and his or her whole personality. Hence, its not an easy job rather the most difficult job in this world. Each parent is awarded different role however, both have to share and work together as mother and father of the child whom they have brought into this world with their mutual love.

This is one of the most unique kind of relationship between parents and children which compliments each other as a family the foundation of each society at large. Children depend upon their parents for their fundamental needs and parents need love from their children and keep feeling happy and proud watching their children growing in front of their eyes day by day. 

Usually we as parents out of our love and emotions we keep providing everything to our children without teaching them the value of things and money in life. We as parents love to provide them all the comforts of life but forget to tell them how these things have reached to them? Who is working hard behind all these comforts? How much these things cost them? Why are we spending so much money on raising the standard of living for our children? etc etc.......

On the contrary, we never realize and understand to teach our children not to take things for granted in life. We as parents forget to tell our children that the hard earned money will not prove useful unless we teach and train our children how to value money in life and create a balance.

Unfortunately, majority of parents consider that things can compensate their love, care and attention towards their children. Therefore, they keep providing their children with expensive gifts, comfortable rooms, toys, dresses and much more. But they forget to give time to their children which their children actually want and expect from them. 

Eventually, when these children grow up they expect each and every comfort to be given to them without paying for it in life. They turn out to be irresponsible and care free type of individuals in life. They have no respect for hard work and effort nor they give any value to money rather they believe that all money and everything in life is their own property and they even have the right to abuse it. 

Today we can see large number of such people around us and they are the outcomes of such type of irresponsible grooming done by their parents who kept on providing them everything before the right time for it has come. For example, giving a car to a young boy without telling him that first he should prepare to earn for himself and then buy it with his own money it would teach him/her that nothing is free lunch in life. He has to work hard to buy that car for himself. If he buys that car with his own money he will be more careful and responsible in taking care of that car because it belongs to him.

This attitude will eventually gives him more confidence and a sense of responsibility towards life. He or she will feel more satisfied and more independent towards their own earnings and expenditures too. Such child will be more thankful towards his/her parents and love them more of showing them the right way of spending in life.

We have to reflect on our roles as parents and try to figure out where we are going wrong in delivering our responsibilities towards our children. These children are not just our children they are an asset of our society and the future generation in this world. Lets prepare and develop responsible, careful and grateful human beings for tomorrow.

Lets Build Homes! Not Houses.

Being human means we all have some fundamental needs in common and one of them is shelter. We all need to survive however survival is not the only desire we all hold in our hearts. 

We want to feel protected and secure with our loved ones and a sense of belonging with our family. Hence, family is the bonding and togetherness of each person attached to it. Home and family are the two concepts related to each other like heart and soul. 

Usually, majority of us don't realize the value and importance of our home. Most of us remain engaged in building houses and decorating it and sometimes spend whole life doing this without realizing that it will eventually end them into loneliness. Therefore, we should not ignore the affection and connection with family unit. 

Constructing house is also a common desire of people and we want to live comfortably and well protected inside our house. However, it should never be at the cost of our family and relationships. So lets join our hands together for building our precious homes instead of constructing and decorating houses. Although no harm in decorating our family home according to our requirements but priority should be remaining in connection and closeness with family and friends. 

Each family has its own different style of living depending upon their earnings and expenditures and they prefer to maintain their living standard accordingly. Managing a cozy and comfortable living style has always been an innate desire of each one of us because we all feel like having a place where we could feel the comfort after spending long hours of work outside whole day. 

Due to our busy life schedules of every day we all feel that although we are living under one roof as a family but we are disconnected with each other. Parents usually remain unaware about their children whereabouts. Similarly, children also miss their parents presence in homes at the time they are at home and also miss the opportunity of spending time together with their parents. 

We do have time for sending text messages, spending time on internet and outside with our friends but we usually forget that eating the last meal of the day with parents and grand parents holds immense value in itself. Presence of parents at their children special events, wishing them success in their each small step in school and work, providing them an opportunity to share their problems and giving them a fair listening ear, taking care during their illness and health, supporting them in their despair moments can bring powerful change in their developmental years. 

Home is the best available platform for us to share all these joys and sorrows of life and move hand in hand to face challenges together which will ultimately vanish with time. Hence, we all have to put in focused and shared efforts to build this homely atmosphere again in our lives and not merely focus on creating a big house full of luxuries. 

This can eventually turn the table around and enable us to provide a better life to our children and better place for our future generations. This home will have a reciprocal affect on both children and parents and even grand parents who also miss their children in their old age. 

So let's build homes, and not just houses of concrete which cannot provide us air to breathe in and  the freedom of living and sharing. 

Creating a better home can help create better people. 

I Am Happy! Are You?

One of the foremost human need is 'HAPPINESS'. Each one of us believes in this and our pursuit for this feeling is unending throughout our life time. 

Happiness, contentment, pleasure and exhilaration are relative terms for us because each one of us have different perceptions about feeling of being happy in life. 

Most of the people consider that happiness in life is associated with luxurious life style, prestigious car, beautiful wife or wealthy husband, having children and great family etc. But we need to reflect more closely upon few questions about this feeling of happiness. Does a comfortable bed can get me good sleep? Can a prestigious car earn me respect? Can a beautiful woman be honest with me? Can a wealthy man will be sincere to me? Will my wealth get me respectful children? Will I be truly happy with all worldly and material desires being fulfilled? I am sure your answers will be 'NO'. Than what are the right answers to all these questions.

Well! there can't be any formula answers to all these questions, since happiness is a relative term similarly there is no ready made solution to acquire happiness in true sense. Everybody's life situation could be different and varies from time to time. One situation could be happy for one person but it could not be for another. However, there are certainly ways to be happy and content in life. 

True happiness is although hidden inside our hearts but its quite evident from our personality, our expressions, smiles, verbal and non verbal language. Hence, happiness will never remain hidden rather it is revealed instantly by us. 

Lets discuss how true happiness can be acquired? Contentment and happiness in our heart can be attained by being compassionate, kind, helpful, by forgiving, by forgetting others mistakes, by sharing grief and pain of others, by smiling at others even if we don't know them, by giving hope to hopeless, by being loving, caring and friendly. By being thankful for what you have with you, avoid being greedy. 

All of these are sources of happiness of your heart. You will feel lighter, satisfied and relaxed by developing this wonderful attitude towards all those around you. Your small smile might make someone forget his or her pain for a while, so keep sharing smiles. 

Understand and realize the difference between material happiness and true happiness of your heart. It means a lot more and creates far greater difference in the lives of others. 

I am happy! I am content and satisfied and consider myself as blessed. I pray same for you indeed. 

A New Beginning!

Although writing after sometime but the new learning and experience has taken place so I think I needed a break to evolve myself. 

We all have a new beginning during our life time which could enable us to evolve, realize and understand our shortcomings, strengths, capacities, abilities to perform and our emotional understandings about certain forces.

Our past was a time which has enabled us to reach this point in life through twists and turns, ups and downs and thick and thin and turned us into an individual personality we behold today to face life in our present time. 

The present day is the time we all have no matter how short moments of joy, fear, tears, depressions, frustrations, love and trust we enjoy today, but its very much there in our hands. We just have to give it a second thought of realization, reflection and understanding to take the best advantage out of it. 

As far as the future is concerned, it is yet to come hence not in our control hence we can only plan, share and discuss about it but cannot live in it today. 

Each new arriving moment paves way for a new moment, intimating us about the new reality we are living in. These new moments are like new opportunities of caring, sharing, loving, joy and contentment reaching out to us with open hands repeatedly. 

These new moments are new beginnings for us. They keep within themselves our hopes, desires and new wishes to keep us content and motivated to take even a small step each moment, minute, hour and day.

Our new beginning want all us to stand taller during our moments of despair, grief and against our problems. These are there to subjugate us but if we keep this new beginning moments fresh in our minds we never lose hope rather keep striving for a better moments to move into our lives. 

Lets develop and understanding for our new hopes, wishes, desires and above all new line of actions to fulfill our dreams, goals and objectives in life. This line of action is the life line for us because it will determine our road map to follow every day. Keep following your dreams and realize that you have a purpose to lead in life and create a new beginning for yourself each day full of hopes.
