Digital Age Kids! New Dimensions of Preparation

My world is now very small, it is on my small finger tips now with which I can manipulate and maneuver my own power of thinking, planning, creating, liking and disliking, understanding and learning in my own way.

Isn't it incredible! Yes indeed, it is. Especially children are enjoying this new innovative life experience and the phenomenon around them open for them all the time. Children are extremely delicate and precious beings especially in their childhood. They need to be dealt not only delicately but at the same time with intelligently to keep them on the right track. We as elders hold the responsibility of providing them satisfactory answers to their even foolish questions and queries, plus give them a direction to follow according to their cognition level and help them understand things in clear way. Complications make them frustrated and confused.

This digital age has twofold impact on our lives. On one side we are all experiencing wonders of technology, information, communication and much more than what we expect in split of seconds and with every passing moment. On the other hand this technological breakthrough has high social, emotional, physical and intellectual impact on our lives too. Children in their schools are taught with new methodologies using new multimedia devices however their teachers usually forget to guide them about the harmful effects and disadvantages of internet, social media and free communication channels wide open without any security check on them.

Therefore, a much greater responsibility lies on the shoulders of parents, teachers and community as a whole to provide a free accessibility to technology but with appropriate direction to them as well in their delicate age i.e. in elementary school age especially.

All the educational stakeholders must develop healthy platforms of counseling for each one of them through close collaboration and interaction for addressing such sensitive issues, hold seminars and forums to address parents and teachers concerns in this regard. Create a harmonious culture in schools. In addition, devise supplementary effective activities in schools and homes where children can be engaged physically, intellectually and emotionally where they could learn, help, support, create and develop new opportunities of learning and development of their healthy personalities.

Schools and homes are best places where teachers and parents need to play positive role to avoid dangerous impact of social media and internet on innocent personalities. Not only children need to be educated about this rather parents need to be made aware about the damage done.

Actually, things and new inventions like cell phones, smart phone, i-pads, laptops, etc are themselves not harmful devices but their usage rather misuse is harmful in real sense.

EDUCATE YOUR CHILDREN, EDUCATE YOUR STUDENTS.

Educate them about right and wrong from initial age and keep doing this throughout their life as they are looking towards their elders how they guide them, spend time with them, read stories for them, laugh and enjoy with them, take care of them, if we play our role with positive minds they will never go astray. This is my personal experience. Be strong mothers to face the challenge your kids bring in this digital age.

LOVE YOUR CHILDREN TO TURN THEM INTO GOOD HUMAN BEINGS.

  1. You are absolutely right in your approach. Actually, parents need to be educated to take care of their kids of a digital age in the best possible ways. Thanks for highlighting the issue. I wish our institutes hire people like you to counsel parents, teachers and kids.

  2. Thanks for your comments, unfortunately our educational leaders avoid hiring sincere people like us just to avoid their own insincere intentions. A dilemma in our education system.
